Enjoy the Easter weekend in the Keswick area

If you’re heading to the Keswick area over the Easter weekend, you’ll find that there’s plenty to keep you occupied. From the year-round activities of cycling, climbing, hiking and more to specific Easter-themed activities and events for the whole family, our 4 star hotel is the perfect base from which to explore the area.

Head to the National Trust shop at the Derwentwater boat landings for a fantastic Easter trail that includes golden acorns, fairy-rings, dragons’ eggs and more, or visit the Pencil Museum for their Easter egg trail and drawing competition, with the winner taking home £100 of goodies.

At the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery there’s an Easter Crafternoon on Thursday April 2nd, as well as a family-friendly Minibeast Trail taking place over the whole of the Easter holidays.

If you’re looking for Easter activities and events outside of Keswick, head to Jennings Brewery in Cockermouth – mums and dads will enjoy exploring the brewery and sampling their beers, while the kids can be kept entertained with an Easter egg hunt, various craft activities and prizes for the best decorated eggs. Also in Cockermouth, head to Wordsworth House for eggs-plorer trails in their gardens, with chocolate eggs offered as prizes.

There’s also plenty going on at the Rheged Centre in Redhills, Penrith too. From a Beatrix Potter egg trail to the great experience of watching real live chicks hatch in an incubator, there’s plenty for the family to enjoy.

With so many special events – as well as the regular events, attractions and beauty that the Lake District has to offer – you’re sure not to be bored in Keswick over the Easter bank holiday weekend!
