Thanks to all the team at Borrowdale Gates Hotel for making our stay this last weekend very special. This was our second stay at the Hotel and it brought back fond memories of our previous visit. Excellent location great panoramic views from the restaurant/lounge, excellent service, food and very friendly staff. Will look forward to our next stay in the future.

Everything about the Borrowdale Gates is top quality, position is excellent with great views and lots of good walks nearby. Accommodation is very comfortable, warm and welcoming with the friendliest staff, food is extremely good and prepared with great care.

I think it must be nigh impossible to find any fault with this hotel. When we booked I explained about my wife's recent hip operation and great care was taken (even to the measuring of the height of the bed and toilet!) to ensure we were given the right room for us. The hotel has a truly wonderful setting with views in all directions and all staff are very welcoming and friendly. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and served efficiently and warmly. The room given us was a suite with walk-in wet room and suited admirably. In my experience, very few manage to reach the consistent high level on display here. We will be back!

Had a lovely weekend for my 50th birthday. Great food, really attentive and friendly staff, plus bracing walk around nearby Derwent Water. Brilliant hotel all in all, and one that deserves your patronage now it's made it through the pandemic and had a reverb. Recommended. We've already booked a return visit.

My wife and I have just returned from another delightful 3-night break at the Borrowdale Gates Hotel where it is impossible to fault anything. From the first greeting to the final goodbye all of the staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and maintained spotlessly. The views wonderful, the surroundings are perfect and the food absolutely delicious. We can think of no other hotel that we would want to return to time and time again.

Excellent service and superb cuisine in a relaxed and beautiful location. Extremely comfortable and welcoming. The area provides unlimited options for sightseeing, walking etc. in the immediate vicinity and further afield.

The superb location which really cannot be beaten sets the scene for a memorable stay. Everything from the welcome at reception on check-in to the service at dinner and breakfast is friendly, caring and hits spot. The food is particularly good - in fact it is excellent and holds its own against many Michelin starred establishments.

This hotel is in a wonderful location. Beautiful scenery and walks straight from the hotel. Very nice dog friendly room this time for us. Super breakfast, and really good dinner meant we didn’t have to go out to eat. If you are after a luxurious peaceful short break, we would highly recommend it. Looking forward to our next visit.
